It is the standard and the most transparent definition of the terms. It is the subject matter of Human Resource department and comes under labor laws. It is the proper matter study and scrutiny.
It is very difficult to avoid grievance procedure nuances, that too if you are a student of Human Resource. It is a very critical issue in the functioning of a company; it should be studied properly and should be balanced with real life practices. This is the time when the merit of a student or a pro is on test. The amiable resolution of the issue is healthy for both the employee and the employer; otherwise it is taken to Employment tribunal or the court of law. Grievance procedures in the work place should be enough in the resolution of a problem; it should not be carried to another level.
Steps involved in grievance procedure
The grievance procedure is addressed in two ways—the standard way and the modified way of addressing any grievance. Under standard way, the employee writes down the complaint and sends it to the employer for a certain period of time. After pondering over the matter, normally after 28 days, the employee is summoned by the management or the employer. The duty of the employer is look into the matter carefully and as a part of grievance procedure, he discusses it with the employee.
The second step is a decision is suggested to the employee, who in turn thinks about it. If the decision stated is in accordance with the problem faced by the employee and if the employee is satisfied; we need not go the next level of grievance procedure.
If not and in any way the matter is not resolved between the management and the employee, then we move to the next level of the grievance procedure. This is the most gruesome stage as matter goes to employment tribunal for the final decision.
Grievance procedure is an avoidable situation and it should be nipped in the bud and should not be elongated.

So it is better to stay clear and evaluate the satisfaction level of the employees and give the most conducive environment where they can work happily and generate more profit.
